Today was the deadline for names to be added to the panels and it was lovely to receive last minute requests from so many of our parents, pupils and friends. We put another 40 names on the panels today which means that more than 360 people will be recorded on the outer wall and nearly all the exclusive panels have been sold. Please make sure we have your names listed correctly. We will update the list on the website tomorrow and then send to the architects for etching at the end of this week.

Tickets are now available for the Fireworks Finale and selling fast. This morning, OV and well known musician Shula Oliver agreed to come and play at the event. Last week, Wigwam, one of our sixth form young enterprise companies agreed to join us for the evening and sell their bespoke jewellery on behalf of the SPACE project. We have more than 40 fabulous lots for the Silent and Public Auctions and the auction booklet will be available to view at the end of this month. As of today, we have raised over £70,000 through the panel sponsorship campaign. This is well over what we hoped would be possible from this campaign so thank you to the hundreds of parents, pupils and OVs who have elected to join this part of the fundraising and record a name on the building. Don't forget that we need to have all the final names for the panels by the 17th June so if you have been meaning to join but just haven't got around to doing so, don't delay. All the ticket sales from the Dance showcase last night went to the SPACE campaign and thanks to the efforts of pupils and staff from all three schools, we have now raised over £900,000. The sun shone as we broke the ground for the SPACE project. More than 150 guests, including Staff, Governors, Trustees and many OVs and parents, all of whom had made a contribution to the fundraising campaign, attended the event. Guests assembled in the theatre where the Chairman of the Governors, Hugh Carslake, gave special thanks to Keith Duddy who had brought the project to life through digital medium. At their AGM on Saturday, the Old Vigornian Club which represents former pupils of the King's School, committed to a donation of at least £30,000 towards the sponsorship of the large seminar room in the SPACE. The generous donation was announced at the ground breaking event for the project which took place on Saturday 4th May and brings the total raised to date to £880,000.

There are 30 thank you letters to be written on my desk today. It's a daunting task but also really positive. The campaign is really gaining momentum as we reach the final stages and start to see the building taking shape. We are looking forward to welcoming back more than 300 OVs and parents to celebrate the start of the project and the OV reunion weekend next weekend. Fingers crossed the sun will choose to shine.
